Privacy policy

Lovitude is an app for two people to write each other a daily thank-you. This policy explains what data we keep, what we use it for and how you can delete it. The short version: we keep the minimum the app needs to work, we sell nothing and there are no ads.
What we keep
- Your Google account: the email address, name and account id Google gives us when you sign in. Your partner sees your name.
- Your messages: the text, emoji, reaction, and when each one was written, opened and read. Message text is stored encrypted in our database.
- Your couple: who you're linked with, since when, the reveal time and timezone you chose, and invite codes.
- Your preferences: language and which notifications you want.
- Your device: your phone's Firebase Cloud Messaging token, to send you notifications, and one active session per account.
What we use it for
Only to make the app work: to identify you, deliver your messages to your partner at the reveal time, sync your devices and notify you. Notifications never include what a message says.
What we don't do
- No ads and no trackers, no analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing.
- We don't read your messages.
Who it's shared with
- Your partner sees your name and the messages you write them, from the reveal time on.
- Google verifies sign-in, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (also Google) delivers notifications.
- Our hosting provider stores the data on its servers on our behalf.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you unlink, each of you keeps a read-only copy of the history under "Previous couples", which you can delete at any time. Once neither of you keeps a copy, those messages are deleted.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and your data at any time from the app or by writing to us. Your account, your messages, your sessions and your notification token are deleted; your partner keeps only the messages they wrote. See Delete your account for details.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data. You can also export each couple's history from the app.
Children
Lovitude is not meant for children under 16.
